Mouser Releases New EIT Technology Series Named That’s 3D Printed

That’s 3D Printed? is the most recent series from Mouser Electronics’ Empowering Innovation Together – EIT technology series. This chapter examines how the fundamental ideas behind additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, have developed to revolutionize engineering, manufacturing, and design through the use of new materials, artificial intelligence (AI), faster production cycles, and unmatched design accuracy.Mouser EIT Technology Series That's 3D Printed

The inventiveness of 3D printing is in its capacity to create complicated interior structures and extremely complex geometries, which is frequently impossible with traditional subtractive techniques. Thanks to developments fueled by supply chain pressures and the incorporation of AI and novel materials, this capability has grown quickly.

When combined, these advancements allow for a wide range of uses, including biomaterial-based human cartilage implants and FAA-approved engine parts made of 3D-printed titanium. When combined with AI-powered tools, this creative flexibility offers engineers a level of design freedom never before possible.

In The Tech Between Us podcast, Mark Beatty, Founder and CEO of 3D Agility, a 3D printing solutions provider, joins host Raymond Yin, Mouser Director of Technical Content, to discuss how this technology can alter manufacturing processes and reshape equipment lifecycles and obsolescence strategies.

The In Between The Tech podcast features Stefanie Brickwede, Managing Director at Mobility goes Additive, a European additive manufacturing network, who details the progression of additive manufacturing. She explores advancements in materials and the expanding scope of its applications, alongside its key advantages and the challenges for wider adoption.

By investigating the various applications of additive manufacturing, engineers may create novel solutions for on-demand manufacturing, make it easier to create personalized consumer items, and successfully handle supply chain issues by producing spare parts locally and effectively.

Established in 2015, Mouser’s Empowering Innovation Together program is one of the electronic component industry’s most recognized educational programs.

“Additive manufacturing isn’t new, but its impact is accelerating,” said Yin. “With the rise of novel materials and AI, engineers can now design with greater precision and fewer limitations. This installment explores how these advancements are not only reshaping design workflows but also helping solve real-world supply chain challenges through fast, on-demand production.”

In addition to the podcast, the Mouser Electronics EIT Technology series includes an in-depth video, technical articles, and topic-related infographics, as well as subscriber-exclusive content, diving into new materials, tools, uses of AI, and changes to the engineering workflow.
