The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) have partnered to establish a new Center of Excellence for Energy Transition (CoEET). With an emphasis on encouraging research and innovation, this calculated action seeks to support India’s energy transition effort.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Union Power Minister Manohar Lal attended a signing ceremony to launch the Center, which would be located at TERI’s Institute of Energy Transition in Hyderabad.

This partnership is said to be an important step in supporting sustainable development and furthering India’s energy transition initiatives.

In order to foster research, innovation, and capacity-building in energy transition technologies and policies, the Center of Excellence for Energy Transition is intended to become a premier knowledge center.

The Center will support ground-breaking developments in technology development, evaluation, and adoption, with its foundation based on cooperation between corporations, industries, and academics.

The Center seeks to strengthen India’s capacity to tackle energy transition issues and create solutions that complement international sustainability objectives by cultivating alliances with both domestic and foreign organizations.

To lower greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy efficiency, and encourage the use of low-carbon technology, the CoEET will carry out extensive research and studies in a number of industries.

Its scope will include investigating novel approaches to reducing emissions in the mining, transportation, buildings, MSMEs, industries, and electricity sectors. Additionally, the Center will concentrate on developing energy-efficient technologies such waste heat recovery systems, sophisticated boilers, HVAC systems, motors, and smart manufacturing.

Furthermore, the Center will integrate cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence and real-time energy monitoring, promote circular economy practices, and assist in the development of policy and regulatory recommendations for building codes, energy performance standards, and appliance labeling. For India Energy Transition, TERI, BEE MoU for CoEET the volt post

This partnership positions the CoEET as a leading center for energy transition technology and strategies, marking a major step towards sustainable development in India.
