The BMW Group and Tata Technologies signed an agreement to establish a software and IT development hub in Pune, Bangalore and Chennai, India respectively.
The primary establishment of development and operations activities will be in Bangalore and Pune. In Chennai, the emphasis will be on providing business IT solutions. The execution of the joint venture agreement is contingent upon the review and approval of the relevant authorities.
The joint venture will utilize Tata Technologies’ digital engineering skills and workforce in India to support the BMW Group’s strategic enhancement of software coding capabilities in various global IT centers and round-the-clock operations, embodying the ethos of ‘Engineer in India for the World’.
The joint venture will concentrate on strategic software development, specifically targeting solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDV). Within the automotive software sector, the primary areas of focus will include automated driving, infotainment, and digital services.
In the realm of business IT, the main emphasis will be on digitalization and automation of product development, production, and sales processes.
With the involvement of 100 skilled and seasoned professionals from TATA Technologies since the establishment of this joint venture, there will be a strong and prompt contribution to software projects.
It is anticipated that the joint venture will experience rapid growth, potentially reaching a four-digit number in the coming years.
