Tata Group and Analog Devices announced a strategic agreement to explore future cooperative manufacturing prospects. In order to improve strategic and commercial cooperation, explore prospects for semiconductor manufacturing in India, and employ ADI’s products in Tata applications like electric vehicles and network infrastructure, Tata Electronics, Tata Motors, and Tejas Networks inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ADI. The companies also decide to talk about strategic roadmap alignment.
It is anticipated that both parties will gain from the cooperative endeavor, which is an important step toward building a strong electronics manufacturing ecosystem in India for both local and international markets.
“The Tata Group is deeply committed to pioneering a thriving semiconductor industry in India,” stated N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons. We are eager to work with ADI throughout the semiconductor value chain and to investigate potential joint ventures between ADI and Tata Group businesses in order to develop and provide cutting-edge solutions for our clients.”
“At ADI, we are ecstatic to collaborate with the Tata Group to advance the semiconductor ecosystem in India. Our dedication to innovation and long-term, sustainable growth in the area is in line with this cooperative endeavor. Through the integration of our practical semiconductor solutions and software knowledge with Tata’s vision and skills, we can expedite the development of innovative technologies, ranging from next-generation network infrastructure to electric vehicles. Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair of ADI, stated, “Together, we are not only strengthening the semiconductor ecosystem but also influencing the direction of global electronics manufacturing in the future.”
On the heels, Tata Electronics is investing in its own facilities by spending a total of $11 billion to construct India’s first fab in Dholera, Gujarat. Tata Electronics also plans to invest an additional $3 billion on a greenfield facility in Jagiroad, Assam, which will be used for semiconductors chip assembly and testing.
The duo plan is to explore the possibility of producing ADI’s products at OSAT in Assam and Tata Electronics’ fab in Gujarat. In order to support energy storage solutions and power electronics in the commercial and passenger car industries, Tata Motors and ADI plan to investigate potential business collaborations.
