The TA35/TA36 Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers are introduced by SCHURTER. The classic TA35 and TA36 are now available with an optional extra magnetic module, which, in addition to their thermal release (bimetal), ensures reliable protection in the event of extremely high overcurrent (short circuit) within milliseconds.
Key Features Include:
- Thermal and magnetic tripping for protection against overcurrent in accordance with IEC 60934
- Super-fast tripping in the event of a short circuit
- Finely graduated rated currents
- Wide range of design options
Thermal Circuit Breakers
Typically, circuit breakers are designed using a bimetal and the thermal concept. The electric circuit is broken if overcurrent causes a temperature to be exceeded. The appliance can be used once more after the bimetal has cooled. However, the bimetal cannot respond quickly enough in the event of a short circuit. Because of this, thermal circuit breakers and fuses are frequently used in tandem.
Additional Magnetic Module
SCHURTER is now adding an additional, optional magnetic module to its 2-pole vintage TA35 and TA36 versions. From this point on, utilizing a thermal-magnetic type doesn’t require a separate fuse. Magnetic modules can have either a slow or quick acting characteristic, depending on the application.
Both types have carefully graduated rated currents and are intended for snap-in attachment. An array of hues and lighting configurations facilitates the designer’s selection process. The SCHURTER TA35 boasts a more traditional look, but the TA36 is a more contemporary model.
A circuit breaker designed for short circuit protection is primarily intended for use in situations requiring complete primary side protection.
