SYSTEMA Acquired by Accenture Eyes Complex Semiconductors

Accenture’s ability to provide customers in these areas with complete support will be strengthened by SYSTEMA’s extensive experience working for semiconductor makers and other high-tech firms.SYSTEMA acquired by Accenture focusing semiconductors the volt post 1

The semiconductor industry uses a large amount of legacy equipment in its production process, even though its products are highly advanced. Many processes are still not completely automated, including material flow and machine change-over. This problem is especially noticeable in Europe, where companies must automate their current production facilities to stay competitive.

One of SYSTEMA’s specialties is the digital integration of both modern and antiquated industrial systems and equipment. The company is excellent at adding data analytics and optimization capabilities to traditional industrial execution systems (MES), which are essential for boosting productivity and cutting costs but frequently lack these features.

SYSTEMA is an expert in Critical Manufacturing and SAP MES solutions (ME/MII/DM). In addition to the semiconductor industry, the company serves customers in the automotive, food and beverage, medical, electronics, aerospace and military, equipment, metal and steel, and specialty chemicals sectors.

Over 240 workers from SYSTEMA will join Accenture’s Industry X practice.

Leadership Comments

“Today’s society relies heavily on semiconductors for everything from smartphones to cars, and there is a strong commitment in Europe to strengthen the industry’s manufacturing capabilities,” said Christina Raab, market unit lead for Accenture in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. “The production of semiconductors is complex and highly specialized, and SYSTEMA’s deep expertise in the industry will expand our capabilities and grow our business in ways we couldn’t achieve organically.”

“We are combining SYSTEMA’s semiconductor and high tech industry experience and capabilities with Accenture’s global network and ability to scale to offer services covering the whole value chain, from supply to logistics and manufacturing,” said Sarat Maitin, who leads Accenture’s practice for digital engineering and manufacturing and infrastructure and capital projects, Industry X, in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. “Our ambition is to become a partner to the industry that helps clients in Germany and Europe secure competitiveness in a market increasingly under pressure.”SYSTEMA acquired by Accenture focusing semiconductors the volt post 1

Manfred Austen, CEO of SYSTEMA, commented: “We have built long-standing, trusted relationships with our clients, guiding them through the ever-evolving technological landscape. With Accenture’s capabilities in data, AI, engineering and supply chain, and our manufacturing IT/OT solutions, we can innovate and scale more effectively, while continuing to strengthen our trusted client relationships.”

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
