STMicroelectronics is set to showcase at electronica China 2024 (Booth E4.4600) from 8-10 July. ST will exhibit a wide range of cutting-edge solutions in Automotive, Industrial, Personal Electronics, and Cloud Infrastructure, with more than 50 interactive demos and advanced solutions, all designed to meet the evolving demands of customers and the market, under the theme “Our technology starts with You”.
Automotive: Having more than three decades of expertise in automotive electronics, ST is a trusted and innovative partner in shaping the advancement of intelligent e-mobility. ST offers a wide range of solutions across the entire e-mobility process. ST technologies contribute to making electric transportation safer, cleaner, and more advanced, covering aspects from electric powertrains to digital vehicle platforms.
During electronica China 2024, ST will display its entire automotive offerings by presenting two electric car models. Guests are able to discover the extensive variety of uses for car electrification and digitalization at ST, including Powertrain for Electric Vehicles (EV), Chassis and Safety, Body and Convenience, and Telematics and Infotainment.
The trend towards electrification is significant in China’s automotive industry, with a flourishing growth in the market for new energy vehicles (NEVs) leading to a rising need for convenient NEV charging options.
The most recent automotive-charging solution from ST incorporates an On Board Charger (OBC) and a DC-DC converter made with STPOWER components, allowing for use with various power levels such as 6.6kW, 11kW, or up to 22kW. It utilizes ST’s Stellar E1 40nm microcontroller technology with ARM® architecture, providing efficiency and reliability via powerful computing cores with analog components and top-notch functional safety and will be showcased during electronica China 2024.
The ADAS, or Intelligent Front View Camera Solution, is another innovation that ST will be showcasing at electronica China 2024. It was created in partnership with ST’s partners. A number of ST technologies are integrated in this solution, such as the L9396 System Basis Chip (SBC) and the SPC58NN automotive MCU. When developing advanced ADAS products, customers can meet the strict safety requirements of ASIL-D thanks to the combination of an MCU and an SBC.
Industrial: Green energy and sustainable practices are becoming more and more important to stakeholders worldwide as concerns over green energy and energy costs grow. These stakeholders include states, businesses, and individuals. ST is leading the charge to create a more environmentally friendly future by creating sustainable solutions in a sustainable manner. Visitors are welcome to view a unique “energy-wall” at electronica China 2024, which displays a whole hybrid energy system. Through a variety of components and devices, such as PV solar panels, inverters, a Battery Management System (BMS), a bi-directional energy-storage system, and EV charging stations, it depicts the full energy-conversion chain, from generation and storage to distribution and consumption.
For datacenters to serve AI/cloud workloads, power efficiency and dependability are essential. With the use of its state-of-the-art technologies, ST at electronica China 2024 presents solutions that are intended to increase energy efficiency while reducing consumption and carbon emissions. These solutions include silicon transistors (i.e., high voltage MOSFETs and IGBTs), galvanic isolation gate drivers, high precision op amps, current sensing amplifiers, and high-performance MCUs.
The Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) has found extensive use in emerging energy sectors like energy storage and photovoltaics. ST at electronica China 2024 will showcase its AFCI solution. This solution uses edge-AI algorithms based on the STM32H7 and STM32G4 MCUs to detect arc faults instantly. The AI algorithm combined with STM32 technology gives far improved accuracy and lower false-alarm rates than conventional mechanical algorithms. Higher accuracy in the inference results may result from the STM32 AFCI 2.0 algorithm upgrade and on-site customer data training.
Personal Electronics and Cloud Infrastructure: Many brands are using NFC to improve customer connection and brand loyalty as a result of smartphones’ recent widespread adoption of NFC technology. More secure NFC tag solutions are needed for luxury goods, high-end brands, high-value products, artwork, and other items to avoid counterfeiting. Along with cutting-edge security features, during electronica China 2024, ST is introducing its newest NFC tag chip, the ST25TA-E, at this show.
With its on-chip ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) capabilities and compatibility with Blockchain standards, this chip brings innovation to the industry. The ST25TA-E, which is an enhanced version of the Edge TruST25 digital-signature feature, has an ECC cryptographic engine. This makes it a more secure digital-signature solution that can be very helpful for digital twinning and product identity verification, watch the live demo during electronica China 2024.
The third-generation duel full-scale MEMS pressure sensor from ST was on display at electronica China 2024. It is housed in a surface-mountable, sealed, cylindrical box. The sensor is demonstrated in a system that measures water depth and altitude precisely for Internet of Things, sports, and wearable device applications while combining high precision and low power consumption. With a strong potting gel that has been tested in automotive applications, it has a ceramic substrate that offers excellent resistance to liquid penetration and safeguards the internal circuitry.
Enhancing the user experience is essential to propelling ST’s ongoing innovation. With the help of the Compact Normalized Histograms feature, a smart-cup detection system powered by ST FlightSense Time-of-Flight technology that was on display at electronica China is able to identify and measure cups of different sizes, shapes, and materials as well as their locations and the liquid level inside. Users can use cups of any shape and size with this technology, and they won’t have to worry about spills from an awkward fit.
After delivering > 1Bu image sensors to chosen partners, a binocular 3D camera will be on display using one of ST BrightSense global-shutter image sensors, which were recently released on the open market to make this innovative technology available to everyone.
