The new 9258-100 Series spring-finger board-to-board compression connections were introduced by KYOCERA AVX. The new 9258-100 Series spring-finger board-to-board compression contacts are designed to offer complete connector functionality in a small, low-profile, single-contact form factor that allows for flexible PCB placement.
Allows OEMs in a variety of industries to save costs and size without sacrificing performance.
Currently, these UL-approved, high-strength copper alloy contacts come with up to 0.4µm of gold plating to increase signal integrity, dependability, and durability, as well as three deflection height profiles that range from 1.00mm to 3.75mm to maximize application applicability.
Additionally, they come in tape and reel for simple SMT assembly and are made to endure 2,500 mating cycles, 2.7g of random vibration, and up to 50g of shock. The series can withstand operating temperatures between -40°C and +125°C and is rated for up to 6A and 600VACRMS or its DC equivalent.
Board-to-board connections in conventional power or signal applications, robust, industrial handheld and portable devices, and ground connections between PCBs or housings are all excellent uses.
Leadership Comments
“The new 9258-100 Series spring-finger board-to-board compression contacts provide superior flexibility and performance in a space-saving, economical single-contact form factor that reliably maintains connections even when exposed to extreme shock and vibration,” said Perrin Hardee, Product Marketing Manager, KYOCERA AVX. “They’re also the smallest spring contacts on the market for portable battery connectors.”
“These new connectors are based on our field-proven 9155 Series ultra-low-profile single compression contacts and backed by more than 30 years of experience designing and developing individual compression contacts that deliver full connector functionality and performance in a wide range of industrial, consumer, medical, automotive, and marine applications, including robotics, mobile phones, tablets, wearables, and portable glucose meters,” he continued. “So, we’re very excited to release them to market, where they’re sure to help OEMs overcome several common design challenges.”
