Siemens Fuse EDA AI Agent Revolutionizes Chip Design

THE VOLT VOTES

Siemens just unveiled the Fuse EDA AI Agent, a smart, domain-specific autonomous AI that takes charge of complex workflows for semiconductor, 3D IC, and PCB systems from design and verification all the way to manufacturing sign-off.

Siemens Fuse EDA AI Agent Launch for 3D IC & PCB workflows
Siemens’ Fuse EDA AI Agent system is a purpose-built domain-scoped autonomous AI agent that plans and orchestrates multi-tool and multi-agent complex semiconductor, 3D IC and printed circuit board (PCB) system workflows

Powered by NVIDIA’s Agent Toolkit, advanced Nemotron models, and NVIDIA AI infrastructure, this agent seamlessly orchestrates tasks across Siemens’ full EDA suite, boosting engineer productivity and delivering top-notch designs with way less manual effort.

The agent builds on Siemens’ Fuse EDA AI system, complete with a slick RAG pipeline, multimodal data lake tailored for EDA, specialized file parsers, customizable security, multi-model support, and easy third-party hooks.

Covering the Full Semiconductor and PCB Workflow

Fuse EDA AI Agent handles end-to-end automation, planning and executing across the design lifecycle. In front-end design and verification, it automates architecture exploration, planning, and RTL coding via Catapult.

For digital verification, it generates testbenches, debugs, and more through the new Questa One Agentic Toolkit.

Moving to physical implementation, it tackles place-and-route, timing, and power optimization with Aprisa, speeds custom design/verification via Solido, and supports hardware-assisted checks with Veloce.

It even streamlines physical sign-off by fixing DRC issues with Calibre, optimizes 3D IC power/ground in Innovator3D IC, and aids PCB layout/signal integrity in Xpedition and Hyperlynx. Plus, it preps for manufacturing with Tessent DFT and Calibre OPC.

What Makes Fuse EDA AI Agent Stand Out

Off-the-shelf AI tools flop in semiconductor/PCB design they can’t handle dense, physics-heavy EDA data, risk IP leaks, or get bogged down by tool overloads. Fuse fixes that with:

  • Domain Expertise: Siemens’ deep EDA know-how powers error-proof orchestration, multi-tool workflows, and customizable “Agent Skills” playbooks for tricky tasks.
  • Scalable Architecture: Dynamic tool discovery, hierarchical planning (supervisor + workers), and recovery loops work across Siemens and third-party tools without context overload.
  • Enterprise-Grade Infra: Optimized for HPC clusters, air-gapped setups, and cross-workflow insights on your existing resources.
  • Built-In Security: Role-based controls, audits, and human checkpoints keep IP safe.

Big Partnerships Fueling the Push

Samsung Electronics is on board: “Orchestrating complex EDA is key as semis advance. We’re excited about Siemens’ Fuse enabling next-level agentic workflows,” said Jung Yun Choi, EVP of Memory Design Technology. “Its architecture boosts productivity and design quality.”

Siemens and NVIDIA are ramping up their collab to pioneer autonomous agents for chip/PCB design. Fuse leverages NVIDIA GPUs and Nemotron for precise reasoning/tool-calling, cutting costs while handling multimodal data flawlessly. Upcoming integrations with NemoClaw and the NVIDIA Agent Toolkit make it industrial-strength.

NVIDIA even uses Fuse in its own chip work. “With Siemens, we’re ushering in agentic AI that plans, acts, and adapts across workflows,” said Kari Briski, VP of Generative AI at NVIDIA.

Availability

Fuse EDA AI Agent debuts today at NVIDIA GTC 2026, an industry-leading AI conference taking place March 16–19 in San Jose, California. Attendees can visit Siemens’ booth for Fuse EDA AI demonstrations.
