With the world’s first FIDO CTAP2.1 Authenticator Level 3+ certificates on the SECORA ID V2 platform, Infineon Technologies solidifies its position in advance security solutions. The Infineon FIDO applet is part of Infineon’s applet collection and runs on the SECORA ID V2 platform, the same base as Eviden’s newly Level 3+ certified cryptovision ePasslet Suite.
Both technologies offer strong defense against software-based and physical threats, protecting private keys with comprehensive security protocols. They provide future-ready protocol compliance and improved manageability for high-security environments such as government, finance, critical infrastructure, healthcare, and aerospace.
The highest security level required for FIDO Authenticator Certification is Level 3+, which guards against sophisticated hardware and software threats like intrusive, side-channel, and fault injection attacks.
This certification level demands chip-level protection, making private key extraction or physical manipulation exceedingly difficult. Reduced risk, adherence to strict standards, and future-proof authentication are all advantageous to customers.
Strong resilience to phishing, side-channel attacks, and manipulation is provided by Level 3+ certified devices, enabling the security of private keys even in the event that endpoints are compromised.
SECORA ID V2 is built on Infineon’s advanced 40 nm SLC38 security controller, enabling outstanding performance and extensive security. With an ARM SecurCore SC300 processor and match-on-card capabilities, it offers a flexible platform for use-cases such eID papers, digital signatures, online authentication, and other applications.
The product is backed by strong tools for efficient integration and modification, and it conforms with high-security criteria such as Common Criteria EAL 6+ (high).
