The new OGN adapter from SCHURTER is a fuse cover/extractor combo. Along with a specific plugging aid, SCHURTER provides a range of covers for the OGN fuse holder, which is offered in THT, SMT, and THR technologies. Because SCHURTER introduces a new OGN adapter that simultaneously serves both purposes.
The available OGN plugging is stated as an extremely helpful equipment for placing 5×20 fuses into any kind of OGN fuse holder. It greatly facilitates the placement and replacement of fuses, particularly on densely packed PCBs.
Frequently, the plugging aid remains together while the fuse is in place, meaning that the plugging aid is in the appliance while it is operating. Nevertheless, for security concerns, this is not allowed. With a 2.5 W/10 A rated power consumption, overheating of the plugging aid is a risk.
This is currently being considered by SCHURTER with the introduction of the new OGN Adapter. It has also been tested for glow-wire resistance and is noticeably more heat-resistant at 4W/16A. As a result, it can cover and stay in the device while it is operating with a clear conscience (VDE approval).
Thus, the cover and the plugging aid can be replaced with the new OGN Adapter simultaneously.

Existing Products
The OGN Adapter is going to replace the existing OGN plugging aids. They are not recommended anymore for new designs and will fall out of the product range soon.
