It’s perfectly timed to fuel India’s exploding data center market by making high-density cooling systems locally, which are crucial for the power-hungry setups driving AI growth here.

The announcement lines up with the kickoff of the ‘India–France Year of Innovation 2026’ on February 17, led by PM Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron. This plant solidifies India’s role as a manufacturing and export hub in Schneider’s worldwide supply chain, right alongside facilities in the US and Italy.

Bridging the AI Energy Gap

With India’s digital infrastructure scaling fast, high-density computing demands better thermal management, traditional air cooling falls short against the intense heat from advanced AI chips.

Shifting from Consumer to Creator

The Bengaluru site integrates seamlessly into India’s thriving data center landscape, which already supports a huge share of global hyperscale needs. Localizing liquid cooling production boosts supply chain strength for homegrown projects and opens doors to international markets.

Schneider already equips nearly one in three data centers worldwide with its power, cooling, and management solutions. This facility brings that expertise home, establishing India as a vital base for AI-optimized data center infrastructure.

They’re also demoing their full AI data center portfolio at the India Impact AI Summit 2026. Schneider powers the majority of global hyperscale data centers and supplies energy systems to many of the world’s top supercomputers.

India is moving from a consumer of AI infrastructure to a builder for both domestic and global demand,” said Deepak Sharma, Zone President – Greater India and MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India. “This transition is a part of a broader shift in the regional landscape. He added that manufacturing depth and supply readiness are now critical enablers for AI-ready data centers to scale across the country.”

“Artificial intelligence can only scale when powered by energy intelligence,” said Manish Pant, Executive Vice President of International Operations at Schneider Electric. “India’s data-led transformation requires computing foundations that are reliable and sustainable. The launch of Motivair’s liquid cooling solutions manufacturing in India is intended to support high-density AI infrastructure with the necessary efficiency and performance at scale”.
