In order to accommodate larger motor shaft sizes ranging from 9 mm to 15.875 mm (5/8 inch), Same Sky’s Motion & Control Group has announced the addition of a new series to its cutting-edge AMT absolute encoder family.
Based on Same Sky’s proprietary capacitive ASIC technology, the AMT24 Series offers the same high levels of accuracy, resilience to environmental particles, and durability as existing AMT encoder models.
The AMT24 uses a high-speed RS-485 interface to provide quick, low latency position data, and it may output 12 or 14 bits of absolute position information with single-turn or multi-turn output choices.
This absolute encoder series comes in a compact modular design with a locking hub for convenient installation, and it offers axial or radial cable connections.
It has a broad operational temperature range of -40 to 105?°C, a low power consumption of 16 mA at 5 V, and a high precision of ±0.2 mechanical degrees.
Because the AMT24 series is digital, users can also set the zero position using the RS-485 protocol of the encoder using Same Sky’s AMT Viewpoint GUI.
Multiple encoders sharing the RS-485 bus can also have their addresses set via the AMT24 encoder’s digital interface.
With nine distinct sleeve bore diameters supported by the AMT24-V kit, ranging from 9 mm to 15.875 mm, and straightforward installation tools under a single SKU, users are given even more design flexibility.
