Rohde & Schwarz is gearing up for Mobile World Congress – MWC Barcelona 2026, where it will showcase a broad portfolio of test and measurement solutions built to make emerging wireless technologies from 5G to 6G measurable, reliable, and deployment-ready. Under the theme “Enabling Connections, Empowering Innovations,” visitors can explore the company’s latest breakthroughs at Fira Gran Via, Hall 5, Booth 5A80, from March 2–5, 2026.

Driving the Transition from 5G to 6G
To ensure a seamless evolution toward 6G, Rohde & Schwarz will present several demonstrations powered by its CMX500 one-box signaling tester. Highlights include:
-
Carrier aggregation across FR1 and FR3 bands, validating end-to-end device performance up to 18 GHz and supporting future 6G spectrum scenarios.
-
Virtual signaling and early SDR-based “shift-left” testing, enabling early modem validation to cut design costs and accelerate time-to-market.
-
Ray tracing and digital twin simulations for realistic propagation testing developed in collaboration with VIAVI™ to enhance the precision of AI receiver measurements.
-
AI Workplace tools for CMX500, including voice-controlled TechAssist and an upgraded ScriptAssist interface that streamline R&D and automation workflows.
-
AI on RAN and XR testing setups, designed to emulate real-world 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi networks for immersive use cases in smart glasses and wearables.
-
6G ISAC testing with R&S AREG800A, enabling object detection through micro-Doppler signature emulation for scenarios like drone sensing.
-
New PVT360 base station tester for FR1/FR2 and small-cell validation, plus CATR-based OTA test chambers for advanced antenna verification.
-
5G Broadcast innovations that demonstrate high-quality data transmission, emergency alerts, and terrestrial positioning technologies.
From Ground to Orbit with Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)
With the rise of satellite connectivity, the CMX500 platform now supports NR-NTN, NB-NTN, and Direct-to-Cell (D2C) technologies. It models real orbital dynamics, Doppler effects, and signal impairments through advanced digital twin simulations. Visitors can also see 3GPP-compliant NTN test case validations developed jointly with Samsung and a demo of Viasat’s NB-NTN test plan.
Industry Collaborations for AI-Driven RAN
Working with Nokia Bell Labs, Rohde & Schwarz will highlight AI/ML-based Digital Post Distortion (DPoD), enhancing 6G uplink performance and reducing device complexity. A joint demo with NVIDIA will show how digital twins and ray tracing bring real-world accuracy to AI-powered base station testing.
Accelerating Wi-Fi 8 Development
Rohde & Schwarz introduces Wi-Fi 8 (IEEE 802.11bn) testing capabilities on its CMX500 and CMP180 platforms.
The portfolio supports dRu and UEQM scenarios and up to 320 MHz bandwidth. The new FSWX signal and spectrum analyzer, paired with the SMW200A vector signal generator, offers best-in-class EVM and advanced MIMO signal analysis for R&D teams.
Automotive Connectivity and eCall Compliance
In anticipation of NG eCall becoming mandatory in Europe in 2026, the CMX500 and SMBV100B test solution ensures compliance with both EU and Chinese GNSS standards.
The company will also display its growing NTN testing ecosystem supporting connected and autonomous vehicle development.
Mission-Critical Networks and Spectrum Monitoring
Rohde & Schwarz extends support for public safety and MCX networks with enhanced QualiPoc capabilities for MCX QoS and QoE testing.
The R&S LCM and TSMS8 will also be featured for high-speed network scanning and spectrum monitoring.
Two new spectrum monitoring products will debut, empowering governments and operators to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate interference globally.
Network Security and Visibility
Through its Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity and LANCOM Systems subsidiaries, the company will present Layer 2 encryption (R&S SITLine ETH NG), R&S ComSec secure mobile solutions, and a new Wi-Fi 7 and 5G router lineup.
Attendees can also explore R&S Probe Observer, an AI-powered deep packet inspection solution from ipoque, delivering real-time network intelligence and visibility.
Rohde & Schwarz invites attendees, media partners, and industry professionals to visit its booth at MWC Barcelona 2026 to experience how its solutions are shaping the connected future from terrestrial networks to space communication, and from secure data transmission to AI-empowered testing.
