RoadGrid Raises INR 12Cr to Supercharge India’s EV Charging Network

Inflection Point Ventures and other investors invest INR12 crore on Roadgrid in a pre-series A round. In RoadGrid’s quest to build the biggest and most accessible EV charging network in India, the round represents an important turning point.

Strong strategic and angel investors, such as Venture Catalysts, Kamal Puri of Skyline Group, FAAD Network, LetsVenture, Vrinda Goyal of Pace Group, Haresh Patel of Arthanomics, and Maneesh Shrivastav of Alpha Value, participated in the round.

Two high-growth categories comprise RoadGrid’s operations. In order to meet the enormous demand for both offboard and fast DC charging for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, the first is manufacturing and selling EV chargers to original equipment manufacturers.

The second is running commercial and public charging stations. By 2030, this sector would need around 30 lakh charging stations, compared to the 8,000 that are currently in place nationwide.

The company’s business strategy blends direct OEM sales with Charging as a Service. In addition to having strong order books with utilities like BSES, NPCL, and Navi Mumbai Transport, RoadGrid is building and running charging stations with active deployments in Indore Noida and IOCL. Over 1,000 chargers are confirmed to be in the company’s pipeline. Concurrently, RoadGrid provides EV OEMs with chargers directly.

To create an EV charging network at HPCL retail locations, Roadgrid has teamed up with VinFast’s Vgreen division. Roadgrid supports VinFast Aftersales Network’s EV Network in India as a technical partner.

The company operates across two segments. It establishes and undertakes EV charging stations under Charging as a Service (CaaS).

Orders are presently being carried out, including deployments in Indore (76 chargers) and Navi Mumbai (250 chargers). Together with ongoing interactions with utilities like BSES and NPCL, these executions have produced a confirmed order book and pipeline with more than 1,000 chargers.

In parallel, the company undertakes direct OEM sales of EV chargers across 2W, 3W, and 4W segments, supported by an additional 1,000+ chargers under order. For notable clients like IOCL, Amazon, BSES, and NPCL, the company has completed more than 100 installations in MP, Rajasthan, and Karnataka to date.

These installations have taken place in locations like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. Over the next six years, the EV charging market is expected to increase from its current estimated ?5,000 crore to ?50,000 crore.

The founding team has expertise in engineering, operations, and EV infrastructure. The founder and CEO, Deepesh Shrinath, has over ten years of engineering expertise, an MBA, and previous positions at Emerson and Eaton.

With previous positions at Delta Electronics and HARTING, Shashank Narayan (CTO) has over ten years of experience in EV charging and renewable energy. He is also the author of an EV charger manual published by NITI Aayog.

While Bharat Joshi (CMO) has over 30 years of expertise in advertising infrastructure and has represented India globally in sports, Chandraprakash Akotkar (COO) offers over 12 years of experience in electrical design and infrastructure projects.

There are two market segments for EV charging. The first is the production and distribution of chargers as an OEM, motivated by the projection that India will have 80–100 million (8–10 crore) EVs by 2030 in order to fulfill the government’s 30% private car penetration objective.

Large amounts of charging equipment—both external and integrated with cars—will be needed for this. Operating charging stations is the second category, which offers a substantial possibility considering that India currently has about 8,000 charging stations, but by 2030 there will be about 30 lakh.

Mitesh Shah, Co-founder IPV, says,

“One of the biggest gaps in India’s EV journey today is not intent, but infrastructure. Consumers are ready to adopt electric mobility, but the lack of reliable, accessible charging continues to slow scale. What stood out to us about RoadGrid is their clear understanding of this gap and their ability to address it across multiple layers, from charger manufacturing to on-ground charging operations. Their focus on both OEM partnerships and public charging networks positions them well to build infrastructure that is not just expansive, but practical and sustainable.”

Deepesh Shrinath, Founder & CEO, RoadGrid says,

“RoadGrid is on a mission to enable seamless, sustainable, and accessible electric mobility across India. We are focused on building reliable, universal charging infrastructure that works across vehicle categories and real-world use cases. With our VC partners, we will be scaling EV charging infrastructure that can become foundational to India’s EV ecosystem and support adoption at a national level.”
