RIR Power Electronics Limited is an ISO 9001 company, opened its state-of-the-art Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor manufacturing facility at the Flatted Factory Building in EMC Park, Infovalley, Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

This development is said to be a pivotal day for the country’s semiconductor industry. Hon. Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon. Minister for Electronics and IT, Health, Family Welfare, and Parliamentary Affairs, and Hon. Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Manjhi, were the honorary guests at the inauguration.

With the construction of this SiC Semiconductor Manufacturing state-of-the-art facility, RIR Power Electronics is taking a significant leap forward in their development of welding rectifiers, power modules, water-cooled assemblies, and semiconductor devices.

More significantly, the business is building a strong supply chain and ecosystem for SiC, which will enable a wide range of high-power and SiC-based devices. SiC, which is well-known for its exceptional efficiency and high thermal conductivity, is revolutionizing a number of industries, including data centers, industrial electric grids, renewable energy, EVs, data centers, and the aerospace and defense sectors.

In order to promote widespread usage of silicon carbide (SiC) across industries, RIR Power Electronics is building a strong ecosystem and supply chain for SiC and this new SiC Semiconductor Manufacturing facility will be a strong example. Their new line of high-power devices and power modules will make it easier to replace SiC in critical applications while improving power handling, energy economy, and thermal performance. It will also make the switch to next-generation power electronics seamless.

The chief minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Manjhi, commended RIR Power Electronics for expanding semiconductor technology in the region. He emphasized the part that these investments play in propelling industrial growth and pointed out that the tech leadership of Odisha is largely due to its business-friendly policies.

RIR Power Electronics’ promoter and chief strategy officer, Mr. Harshad Mehta, emphasized the facility’s contribution to fostering innovation and catering industrial needs.
