Renesas Electronics and Intel announced a partnership that will produce a power management solution that offers laptops built on the new Intel Core Ultra 200V series the greatest battery efficiency available.
In close partnership with Intel, Renesas has created a innovative new tailored power management integrated circuit (PMIC) that addresses all of the power management requirements for the most recent Intel processor generation.
For PCs using the new Intel processor, this sophisticated and highly integrated PMIC provides a comprehensive solution along with a pre-regulator and a battery charger. Together, the three new gadgets offer a specially designed power solution for client laptops, especially those running power-hungry AI apps.
Feature Set Optimized for Mobile Applications
The RAA225019 PMIC, the RAA489301 high-efficiency pre-regulator, and the ISL9241 battery charger are among the new devices. These devices are designed with low-power mobile computing uses in mind. Strong application support and tried-and-true reference designs enable Renesas solutions.
The RAA225019 PMIC has completely integrated power MOSFETs and current sensing circuitry, and it is extensively programmable for Lunar Lake applications. Without sacrificing efficiency, it is ideal for tiny form factor applications due to its support for high switching frequencies.
A three-level buck converter, the RAA489301 pre-regulator is made to give the RAA225019 PMIC an ideal voltage range. Compared to conventional 2-level buck designs, its novel architecture improves thermal performance and accommodates a broad input and output voltage range. This makes it the perfect option for demanding power solutions since it enables higher efficiency in small, high-power-density applications.
