Renesas 365 Goes Live, An AI-Powered MCU Design Revolution

THE VOLT VOTES

Renesas Electronics just launched Renesas 365, an intelligent, model-based platform powered by Altium that brings device exploration, system development, and early validation into one seamless cloud environment. It’s the first platform of its kind to truly connect silicon and systems across an open ecosystem at scale.

Engineers know the pain of disconnected workflows, manual part searches, and lacking system-level visibility. Renesas 365 fixes that by pulling together embedded software, datasheets, and app notes into a streamlined, cloud-managed hub.

Teams can now collaborate on architectures, co-develop hardware/software, and make smart decisions with real-time insights.

This first phase integrates over 550 RA family MCU variants (Renesas’ top Arm®-based portfolio) with full development tools following up on its concept debut earlier this year.

System-Level Intelligence That Saves Hours

Instead of slogging through datasheets in isolation, Renesas 365 uses model-based evaluation to guide MCU selection based on your full system needs: pin usage, peripherals, timing, power, and compatibility with system blocks.

What used to take an hour of datasheet digging now it’s minutes. This cuts evaluation time, speeds design convergence, and slashes rework for faster time-to-market.

Pair it with e²studio IDE, Flexible Software Package (FSP), and smart docs for RA-specific workflows covering sensing, power management, and more.

Key Features Engineers Will Love

  • Model-based exploration, discovery, and component selection
  • Digital continuity across systems, hardware, and software
  • AI guidance for constraints, resources, and error fixes
  • Over-the-air (OTA) management for RA MCUs

Existing e²studio users can link projects immediately. New projects get guided system discovery to find compatible devices fast.

As you tweak your design, Renesas 365 automatically logs hardware/software changes and ties them to system elements.

It flags constraints, suggests fixes, and helps teams decide with confidence, fewer iterations needed. Plus, OTA updates keep RA devices current post-launch.

Open for Real-World Flexibility

It’s built open and scalable, just like actual projects. Bring in third-party components, sensors, or partner tools to evaluate tradeoffs across mixed-vendor setups with full system context.

What’s Next for the Ecosystem

Phase two (in development) adds pre-modeled subsystem blocks, peripheral configs, power management, software, all auto-maintained and validated.

More Renesas families and third-party devices join, letting you mix customizable blocks to cut engineering time and grab cutting-edge tech faster.

Renesas demos it live at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg:

  • Renesas 365 Booth(Hall 4, Stand 305/4-305): Live RA workflows, model-based exploration, intelligent validation
  • Main Renesas Booth(Hall 1, Stand 234/1-234): Full portfolio showcase

Leadership Comment

“Renesas 365’s general availability is a major step in our Digitalization Vision,”Renesas 365 Goes Live, Altium-Powered MCU Design Hub The Volt Post said Gaurang Shah, VP and GM of Embedded Processing. “This intelligent environment accelerates early development and sets up hardware/software subsystems for the next phase helping customers build scalable, software-defined products faster and cheaper.”
