At CES in Las Vegas, Quectel Wireless Solutions revealed its SRG091X and SRG093X series modules, which provide integrated CPU, memory, and wireless connectivity based on the NXP Semiconductors i.MX 9 series of applications processors.

This new generation of modules is designed for consumer applications that need high data throughput and advanced multimedia capabilities, as well as industrial environments that demand high levels of automation.
The modules streamline OEM design, shorten time to market, and minimize development effort for IoT manufacturers globally by combining memory and wireless functionality into a single solution.
Industrial HMIs, gateways, scanners, printers, energy meters, EV charging stations, smart speakers, POS systems, smart doorbells, smart locks, and numerous other connected devices are just a few of the many applications for which these modules are ideal.
Based on the NXP energy-efficient i.MX 91 processor, the SRG091X integrates the NXP IW610G, providing BLE 5.4 connectivity, 802.15.4 (Thread/ZigBee) and Matter, and Wi-Fi 6 in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands.
Additionally, the SRG091X’s capabilities can be expanded by using Quectel’s Wi-Fi HaLow and cellular modules. The SRG091X incorporates the NXP i.MX 91 processor, which has a high-performance Arm Cortex-A55 CPU operating at up to 1.4GHz and provides 1GByte LPDDR4 and 8GByte eMMC memory, and runs Linux, Zephyr, or freeRTOS.
Numerous peripheral interfaces, such as video output via a 24-bit parallel RGB interface that supports LCD screen display, are also supported by the module. In addition, the SRG091X has several low-speed interfaces, two USB 2.0 and two CAN-FD interfaces, four ADC interfaces, S/PDIF, and two 1Gbps Ethernet interfaces.
Along with BLE5.4, 802.15.4 (Thread/ZigBee), and Matter connectivity, the SRG093X also has NXPs IW610G, which offers Wi-Fi 6 in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency ranges.
The NXP i.MX 93 processor in this module consists of a Cortex-M33 microcontroller that can operate at up to 250MHz and a high-performance dual Arm Cortex-A55 CPU that can run at up to 1.7GHz. Embedded 1GByte LPDDR4X and 16GByte eMMC make up the memory.
The SRG093X has LVDS, RGB, and MIPI_DSI video output interfaces to support LCD screen displays using Linux, Zephyr, or freeRTOS operating systems. Dual 1Gbps Ethernet connections, low-speed interfaces like SPI, UART, I2C, and I3C, two USB 2.0 and two CAN-FD interfaces, four ADC interfaces, two 32-pin FlexIO interfaces, and S/PDIF are examples of other interfaces.
The module can run deep learning algorithms to satisfy the requirements of smart terminals and industrial edge devices, with customizable resolution of up to 2K and Display PXP with 2D graphics.
The dimensions of the SRG091X and SRG093X are 46 x 41.5 x 3.0 mm, and they both function in the temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
In support of this release, Quectel offers a range of optimized antennas designed to complement the SRG091X and SRG093X modules, ensuring robust wireless connectivity and reliable signal performance in diverse deployment scenarios.
These antennas have been developed to match the modules’ frequency bands and application needs, helping OEMs reduce integration complexity and accelerate time-to-market.
