BlackBerry subsidiary QNX reported major advancements in its joint “QNX Everywhere in Education for India” project with Pi Square Technologies, which aims to develop a workforce of embedded software professionals prepared for the future. The initiative, which was started in February 2025, has quickly spread throughout India, integrating QNX technologies into engineering programs and creating the foundation for a new generation of talented developers.

The QNX Everywhere program, a pillar of QNX’s global expansion strategy, aims to democratize access to state-of-the-art embedded software education while fostering innovation in safety-critical industries like robotics, automotive, industrial automation, medical devices, and more.
In order to directly integrate its foundational tools and technologies into engineering curricula, QNX is collaborating with Pi Square Technologies to form partnerships with hundreds of academic institutions throughout India.
This collaborative effort aims to strengthen QNX’s overall workforce strategy, which includes developing the future talent that will support and expand its Engineering and Innovation Center in Hyderabad, while simultaneously quickly scaling a new generation of engineers based in India with real-world, employable skills in embedded systems development.
In just over six months, the program has achieved several key milestones including:
- Established four regional clusters of participating universities and colleges across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Coimbatore.
- Signed 51 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading academic institutions, including Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Madras Institute of Technology, and B.V. Raju Institute of Technology, among others.
- Trained and certified 74 faculty members in QNX technologies, enabling sustainable, in-house delivery of embedded software education.
- Enrolled over 2,600+ students, with the first cohort expected to grow to 2,500 students by year-end.
- Launched 14 dedicated learning labs, each equipped with Raspberry Pi 4 devices running QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0, providing students with hands-on experience with real-world development tools.
