In a fascinating and as mentioned eye-opening experiment, Osprey Charging had an AI artist to bring children aged 7 to 14 futuristic visions to life. When asked to explain the future they saw for humanity, the children came up with some amazing, yet startling ideas. They were shocked to have these thoughts projected back to them by artificial intelligence(AI).
Initially, the children hoped for a sense of community and advance use of technology, but their aspirations painted a different picture of the future. The unchecked use of fossil fuels and carbon emissions resulted in visions of the sick finding it difficult to move, artificial greenery, and a sky excessively contaminated with pollutants. The children were astounded to see the harsh landscapes they had described come to life when these vivid visuals were displayed on a screen behind them.
On the other hand, while they described their idealized futures, the AI image generator concurrently displayed these incredibly colorful and upbeat depictions of future civilizations, offering a more positive view of what might be achievable with pictures of dynamic nature, pure air, and cutting-edge transportation.
The youngsters who were involved responded to these photos by explaining how they thought driving electric vehicles, using green energy, and reducing carbon emissions may help us preserve and enhance the environment. Numerous delegates emphasized the necessity of acting immediately to prevent a repeat of squandered chances to protect our ecosystem.
Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging, commented:
“It has been incredibly eye-opening and insightful to hear the thoughts, hopes and fears of our next generation on what they believe lies in store for our society and environment, and the stark visualisation using AI generated images cements the need for action to be taken to support the move to net zero. Here at Osprey Charging, we’re continuing to be at the forefront of this transition, installing increasing numbers of public EV chargers across the UK, with over 1,000 rapid chargers now available on the Osprey network, in a range of accessible rural and urban locations.
“This experiment and the engaging input from each child that participated highlighted the necessity for both businesses and individuals to continuously strive for greater green and sustainable practices, something which we pride ourselves on. Through installing charging infrastructure, powered by renewable energy, from Land’s End to John O’Groats and across Great Britain, we are providing the critical infrastructure that is supporting the UK’s transition to electric vehicles”
With an exceptional 99% reliability rate, Osprey’s charger network has won two prizes in the last year: Best EV Charging Network at the Transport and Energy Awards and Charging Network of the Year at the Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellent awards. Furthermore, Zap-Map recognized Osprey as a “Driver Recommended Network” for the fourth consecutive year for its user-friendly charging experience.
Osprey Charging is building more than 1,000 rapid chargers nationwide and deploying fast public EV chargers to further support these goals.
