The new OV50R CMOS image sensor from OMNIVISION boasts a high frame rate, fast focusing, outstanding low-light performance, and an ultra-high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 110 dB for video and preview with a single exposure.
With its 50-megapixel (MP) sensor and 1.2-micron (µm) pixel, the OV50R is intended for use in high-end consumer electronics such as smartphones and action, vlog, and pocket cameras.
The OV50R CMOS Image Sensor Supports:
- 4-cell binning for 12.5MP at 120 fps and 4K 60 fps with three-channel HDR with 4x sensitivity for excellent low-light performance.
- It offers premium-quality 8K video with dual analog gain (DAG) HDR and on-sensor crop zoom.
- OMNIVISION’s second-generation TheiaCel™ technology further expands single exposure HDR to 110dB. The sensor supports 100% coverage quad phase detection (QPD) for best-in-class autofocus performance.

The OV50R is sampling now and will be in mass production in Q1 2026.
