As the company quickly grows its operations in the UK, VIAVI Solutions announced that Netomnia, an alternative network (Alt-Net) operator, has selected VIAVI’s ONMSi Remote Fiber Test System (RFTS) to streamline and expedite network installation and ongoing maintenance.
Together with YouFibre and brsk, Netomnia, the second-largest Alt-Net in the UK, currently has 325,000 premises connected and 2.5 million serviceable premises.
The group is on track to attain three million serviceable premises by the end of 2025, with a new goal of five million serviceable premises by the end of 2027, assuming an annual build pace of one million premises.
By optimizing maintenance and operation over the lifecycle and improving network rollout efficiencies and governance, VIAVI’s field-proven ONMSi will be crucial in fostering corporate expansion.
During the build phases, Netomnia will conduct end-to-end certification testing by utilizing a mobile application to take use of the ONMSi remote test-on-demand capability.
The optical network terminals (ONTs) on the premises will also be used to monitor network performance and health using reflector-less capabilities.
