NeoCortec CEO’s Keynote on ‘NeoMesh on LoRa’ at The Things Conference 2025

NeoCortec CEO Thomas Steen Halkier will deliver the keynote address at the Things Forum One on Tuesday, September 23, at 15:55 a.m., during The Things Conference 2025 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which takes place from September 23 to 24. “NeoMesh on LoRa: Bringing True Mesh Networking to the LoRa PHY” is the topic Halkier will be discussing.

The talk examines how NeoMesh on LoRa supports dense networks, gets beyond star topology restrictions, and allows for years of operation on tiny batteries. The lecture will examine the integration of the two most popular wireless technologies, highlighting the benefits in terms of power consumption, coverage, and dependability with facts and real-world examples.

Single-hop communication is frequently used in traditional LoRa-based wireless solutions, which restricts scalability, raises edge energy consumption, and decreases reliability in dynamic situations. By fusing LoRa’s long-range, interference-resistant PHY with genuine mesh networking, NeoMesh on LoRa brings about a paradigm change.

A decentralized mesh technology designed specifically for battery-operated devices is called NeoMesh. Without the need for a central coordinator, each node functions as a router, allowing for multi-hop communication, dynamic routing, and autonomous self-configuration. When combined with LoRa modulation, it provides increased signal strength and range, making it perfect for remote sensing, industrial IoT, smart agriculture, and infrastructure monitoring.

On stand A8 at The Things Conference, NeoCortec  and its Italian partner Embit, manufacturer of wireless modules, will be showing their latest EMB-LR1121-e/mesh module – a dual band (subGHz/2.4GHz), embedded LoRa-enabled NeoMesh wireless network module. The companies will demo a NeoMesh wireless network using LoRa modulation.

Visitors to the stand will learn more about the features and benefits plus how the combination of NeoMesh’s simple and massive scalability, high reliability and low power with Semtech’s LoRa modulation proven ability to perform well in noisy environments, such as buildings where other 2.4GHz radio systems such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also present, will work in their respective application. The demo also showcases how easy it is to set up and run such a wireless network.

Furthermore, Embit will be holding a hands-on workshop at The Things Conference where attendees can explore and experience the NeoMesh on LoRa modulation modules in action themselves.
