Navitas, Cyient Drive GaN Power Innovation in India

Through this collaboration, Navitas and Cyient Semiconductors plan to jointly develop GaN products, digital and mixed signal ICs, GaN-based system modules, and design enablement platforms aimed at India’s high voltage, high power market segments.

Navitas and Cyient Unite to Build India’s GaN Ecosystem

In order to foster the adoption of GaN technology in India and establish a comprehensive, end-to-end GaN ecosystem, Navitas Semiconductor and Cyient Semiconductors have formed a strategic long-term cooperation.

Through this collaboration, Navitas and Cyient Semiconductors plan to jointly develop GaN products, digital and mixed signal ICs, GaN-based system modules, and design enablement platforms aimed at India’s high voltage, high power market segments, including AI data centers, electric mobility, performance computing, energy grid infrastructure, and industrial electrification.

In support of the Indian government’s “Make in India” campaign, the alliance aims to develop a strong local manufacturing ecosystem and supply chain. Additionally, Navitas and Cyient Semiconductor hope to use IC technology to accelerate the development of solutions for high voltage and high power applications through this relationship.

This is anticipated to comprise both new products designed to meet the specific needs of the Indian market and products based on Navitas’ current GaN technologies. For developers and OEMs around the region, Cyient Semiconductors’ efforts to create a safe local supply chain and ecosystem for GaN products in India will significantly shorten time to market.

By providing locally sourced GaN components and manufacturing support, this effort aims to empower Indian design houses and OEMs, facilitating quicker development cycles and lowering obstacles to GaN adoption in India. Additionally, it supports Cyient Semiconductors’ goal of advancing semiconductor innovation, localization, and scalability in important technology domains.

Navitas and Cyient Semiconductors to create a direct path for Indian customers to obtain GaN technology, together with reliable procurement, engineering collaboration and technical support.
