Tailored for CRA compliance and software-defined vehicles (SDVs), these TA101 TrustFLEX secure authentication IC devices offer flexible deployment options. If you already have cloud infrastructure for managing keys and firmware at scale, pair it with factory-preconfigured TrustFLEX ICs.

With cybersecurity regulations getting tougher globally like the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and stricter industrial and automotive standards product makers need to build security in from day one. Microchip Technology is making that easier with new additions to its Trust Platform: the TA101 TrustFLEX secure authentication IC and the TA101 TrustMANAGER with Kudelski Labs’ keySTREAM service.
No cloud setup, TrustMANAGER handles everything in the cloud from cryptographic key lifecycle management to firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) updates cutting complexity while meeting tough security demands.
For industrial use, the platform supports IEC 62443 standards and CRA requirements through PKI authentication, secure communications, centralized security management, and verified firmware updates. Microchip’s factory or field provisioning services also simplify compliance documentation and assessments.
The TA101 TrustFLEX (TA101-TFLXTLS) IC comes factory-ready for common security scenarios, enabling fast hardware authentication without reinventing the wheel on crypto configs. It cuts development time, eases paperwork, and reduces risks versus manual setups with keys provisioned securely at Microchip’s Common Criteria-certified factories.
Meanwhile, TA101 TrustMANAGER (TA101-TMNGTLS) lets you configure and manage keys remotely throughout the product lifecycle. Tied into Kudelski’s keySTREAM SaaS platform, it covers in-field provisioning, monitoring, key revocation, code signing, and FOTA.
In automotive, it powers SDV architectures by ensuring ECUs only accept authenticated software and commands aligning with ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE WP.29 regs to tackle cyber risks head-on.
Together, TrustFLEX and TrustMANAGER create an unbroken, hardware-rooted chain of trust from factory floor to field deployment, speeding up compliance-ready products for industrial and automotive markets.

Leadership Comment
“Security requirements are expanding rapidly, presenting developers with significant challenges in complexity of implementing cryptographic key management and secure updates,” said Nuri Dagdeviren, corporate vice president of Microchip’s secure computing group. “At Microchip, we believe security can facilitate innovation, not slow it down. Our Trust Platform simplifies the security lifecycle and enables easy integration, helping customers bring products to market faster and with confidence.”
Development Tools
The TA101-TFLXTLS and TA101-TMNGTLS are compatible with the MPLAB® X Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and supported by Microchip’s CryptoAuth PRO development board (EV89U05A) and the CryptoAuthLib software library. Microchip’s Trust Platform Design Suite (TPDS) streamlines onboarding for security solutions by providing training, prototyping tools and secure provisioning access.
