Post Divestment L&T Switchgear Gets New Identy, Lauritz Knudsen

Lauritz Knudsen is poised to strengthen its core LV and MV Business while continuing to build capabilities in areas like the new energy landscape encompassing renewable power generation and e-mobility solutions, serving a variety of segments including infrastructure, industries, buildings, homes, and agriculture. The company is carrying on the 70+ year legacy of the L&T Switchgear brand forward with an even stronger focus on the needs of its customers.

Following L&T’s Strategic Divestment of its Electrical and Automation (L&T E&A) division, L&T Switchgear joined the Schneider Electric Group in 2020. Lauritz Knudsen will be the new name for L&T Switchgear.

The firm will continue to think, design, and manufacture in India, for India and the world, while strategically upholding its fundamental principles and unshakable commitment to “Viksit Bharat.” In order to meet the demands of both Indian and international markets, this would expedite the brand’s objective to promote innovation and quality in the electrical arena.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Peter Herweck, Chief Executive Officer at Schneider Electric, underscored Lauritz Knudsen’s pivotal role in driving innovation while enhancing global competitiveness. “Lauritz Knudsen’s vision prioritizes innovation and excellence, aligning closely with India’s growth story. Lauritz Knudsen aims to strategically invest approximately INR 850 crores over the next three years, further establishing its role as a significant player in India’s rapid growth trajectory in the electrical sector.”
