The factory will include a state-of-the-art manufacturing area with cutting-edge machinery designed specifically for Klüber Lubrication’s unique requirements. As part of the investments, Klüber will improve the R&D infrastructure, accelerate the time to market for new products, and get additional certifications including ISO 21469 for food grade lubricants and IATF for automotive clients.

In order to better serve its customers, Klüber Lubrication is prepared to take advantage of these improvements and expand its operations, launch high-value product lines, and make it easier for international goods to relocate smoothly.

The Freudenberg Chemical Specialities board members, Drs. Joerg Matthias Grossmann, Mr. Filip Krulis, and Dr. Sebastian Weiss, the Klüber board members, Drs. Wolfgang Sammer, and Markus Murmann, the Klüber India leadership team, consisting of Mr. Hitendra Bhargava, Mr. Vishal Almal, and Mr. Kanakaraju Thangavel, and Dr. Stefan Seemeyer, Head of Global Product Innovation & Regional Board Member APAC, graced the recent ground-breaking ceremony to officially launch the project in Mysore.

Hitendra Bhargava, CEO and Regional Management Board Member Asia Pacific at Klüber Lubrication, emphasized the transformative impact of this expansion, stating, “By integrating a new production hall and world class infrastructure, we aim is to offer state-of-the-art speciality products which will be locally manufactured. Ultimately, this initiative is in sync with the self-reliance India mission (Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan) launched by the Government of India. This investment helps us to be closer and faster to our customers not just in India, but in the entire APAC region.

Kanakaraju Thangavel, CTO of Klüber Lubrication India added on the regional impact of this expansion, “This a big benefit to our customers in south-east Asia, especially considering the supply chain challenges the world has seen in the last few years owing to geo-political disruptions. This investment reflects our confidence in the region and our dedication to exceeding customer expectations. We are ready to elevate operations, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to the region’s development.”

The growth of Klüber Lubrication in Mysore further demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainability; thanks to solar panels mounted on the roof, the factory obtains more than half of its energy from sustainable sources. Klüber Lubrication is ranked in the top 5% of more over 130,000 firms globally, having earned the coveted EcoVadis gold award for sustainability for the third consecutive year in 2024, said the official release.
