Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds great promise to transform wireless communications networks. RAN is a perfect application for artificial intelligence (AI) to create more optimum, dependable, and efficient mobile networks because of the inherent complexity of its structures and operations.

The AI-RAN Alliance seeks to take advantage of this potential by figuring out how to improve mobile network efficiency, lower power consumption, and upgrade current infrastructure, all of which will open up new business prospects made possible by 5G and 6G. The alliance will do this via conducting RAN-related AI research in the areas of spectrum efficiency enhancement, more efficient use of architectures, creation of new AI-driven income streams, and deployment of AI at the network edge to provide new services and boost operational efficiency.

Keysight is aware of how AI might change the world and how it will influence communications systems be built and tested in the future. The company is involved in several early research initiatives that range from improving AI learning in wireless communications testing to optimizing wireless performance. In addition, Keysight is a part of AI Safety Consortium at NIST and works on several standards and research projects pertaining to the emerging subject of AI system validation.

Ardavan Tehrani, Samsung Research, AI-RAN Alliance Board Director, said: “The AI-RAN Alliance is excited to welcome Keysight as a new member. As the wireless industry matures from AI model development to deployment, there is a need for rigorous testing of these models to ensure consistent and expected performance and reliability of AI models. The domain knowledge Keysight brings in these areas will help further the alliance’s mission of bringing AI technology to the RAN.”

Giampaolo Tardioli, Vice President, 6G and Next Generation Technology at Keysight, said: “With our deep expertise in simulation, modeling, and measurement science, Keysight will provide valuable solutions to accelerate the deployment of AI in the RAN and to improve accuracy and trustworthiness of the models of AI in the RAN. Joining the AI-RAN Alliance is a natural choice and another proof point of Keysight’s commitment in enabling innovation across the communication and computing industries. We look forward to collaborating with the other alliance members to help fully realize the potential of AI for wireless systems.”
