The KAS Group company KASFAB Tools Private Limited, which is a division of UHP Technologies and KASTECH Equipment, has opened India’s first semiconductor equipment manufacturing plant to serve customers worldwide.
According to various media reports, Fortune 100 company officials and international supply chain partners attended the groundbreaking of the state-of-the-art facility in Doddaballapur.
The facility was formally opened by Prof. Srinivasan Raghavan, Chairman of CeNSe, IISc, Dr. Suraj Rengarajan, Head of Semiconductor Products Group at Applied Materials India, and Dr. Ankineedu Velaga, SVP & Country Head of YES India.
With a strong portfolio that includes UHP Technologies and KASTech Equipments, KAS Group is a well-known engineering leader with a track record of success in the semiconductor and solar industries.
They have experience with semiconductor R&D facilities and solar fabs. UHP Technologies has strengthened the Group’s position in the market by landing a big contract with Micron Semiconductor Gujarat.
This initiative represents a significant turning point in India’s progress toward independence and world leadership in semiconductor production.
With an initial investment of INR 20 crore and further expansions of INR 250 crore, KAS Group intends to make significant investments in its recently formed company, KASFAB Tools Private Limited.
The Indian semiconductor ecosystem is expected to grow to INR 2,500 crore in the next three to five years, with an emphasis on entering a global market of USD 25 billion. Forecasted revenue for FY 2025–2026 is INR 50 crore, with exponential increase expected as the business grows.
After a thorough comparison of similar setups in the USA, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and China, the 20,000 square foot facility on the outskirts of Bangalore was created. It is among India’s most cutting-edge facilities of its sort.
It has state-of-the-art facilities, such as Class 10 and Class 100 cleanrooms, component fabrication, high-precision metal and plastic welding, and ultrasound-assisted cleaning with deionized (DI) water.
