TDK Corporation has announced the appointment of Joseph Bousaba as the new General Manager (GM) of the company’s MEMS Sensors Business Group and as the CEO of InvenSense, a TDK Group company.
Joseph Bousaba takes over as CEO and General Manager after Omar Abed left the position on October 1, 2024, due to personal reasons.
In 2025, Abed intends to return to TDK in a new role. Joseph Bousaba has held executive positions at Qualcomm and served as Chief Business Officer at InvenSense, Inc. in the past.
“I’m committed to the partner-first values and strategic vision on which Omar and I have aligned in building the resilient business we have today,” said Bousaba. “We have the best MEMS sensor team and partnerships in the world, and I’m honored to lead us toward ongoing innovation and growth.”
In the semiconductor sector, Joseph Bousaba has held senior leadership positions for over eighteen years. He oversaw a multi-hundred-million dollar, highly profitable business as Vice President of Consumer IoT and Smart Home at Qualcomm before to joining TDK in November 2019.
Prior to joining Qualcomm Atheros, he had a number of leadership positions in both business and product at Philips Semiconductors (now NXP).
“I have full confidence in Joseph’s ability to move our business forward,” said Abed. “Joseph has an unwavering commitment to our partners; from his demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively to his depth of expertise in MEMS sensors and consumer electronics markets, he is well-equipped to lead this business.”
Although the new leadership takes effect right away, Abed and Bousaba are striving to make sure that partners and employees have a seamless transition.
