U.S. Congressman John W. Mannion’s Strategic Visit to Indium Corp. Facility

Congressman Mannion, a former state senator and educator, has consistently supported initiatives to improve workforce development, education, and economic growth in New York State.

Indium Corporation values his leadership and ongoing efforts to promote innovative manufacturing, education, workforce development, and job creation throughout the region.

During his visit, Congressman Mannion met with Indium Corporation executives and team members and took a guided tour of the company’s Business Park Drive location.

The facility includes specialized manufacturing processes and serves as a hub for innovation, process improvement, and staff training efforts, including the engineering team’s work on precision solder preforms for advanced semiconductor applications.

The visit focused on Indium Corporation‘s continued leadership in the sourcing, refining, and distribution of vital materials including gallium and indium.

These materials are vital for sophisticated electronics, semiconductor devices, 5G technologies, photovoltaics, and developing AI applications. Indium Corporation is dedicated to developing a strong supply chain for its worldwide customers by leading gallium and indium research and commercialization initiatives.

In addition, Congressman Mannion learned more about Indium Corporation’s employee-focused workforce development programs, which promote continual learning and career growth at all levels of the organization.

STEM outreach, job shadowing, summer internships, registered apprenticeships, Real Life Rosies, and Advance to Apprenticeships engagements, ELL (English Learning Language), financial literacy, and materials science classes, skill building, operational excellence, and leadership development are among the activities offered.

Congressman Mannion’s visit is part of Indium Corporation’s continued outreach to politicians, industry stakeholders, and community leaders to support projects that promote innovation, economic growth, and inclusive opportunity in Central New York and beyond.
