Infineon Grows Next-Gen OptiMOSTM 7 MOSFETs for Future Automotive

For automotive applications, Infineon Technologies is growing its range of next-generation OptiMOS 7 MOSFETs. The 40 V OptiMOSTM 7 MOSFETs product line now comprises more devices in sturdy, lead-free packaging. Furthermore, OptiMOS 7 MOSFETs at 80 V and 100 V are now accessible.Infineon new range of OptiMOS 7 MOSFETs - 40 V Product Line the volt post

Electric power steering, brake systems, power switches in new zone topologies, battery management, e-fuse boxes, DC/DC, and BLDC drives in different 12 V and 48 V electrical system applications are only a few of the standard and future automotive 48 V applications for which the MOSFETs are designed.

They are also appropriate for use in various transportation applications, such commercial and agricultural vehicles (CAV), e2wheelers, eScooters, eMotorcycles, and light electric vehicles (LEV).

“As a technology leader in power semiconductors, Infineon is committed to shape the future technology standards in automotive power MOSFETs in terms of power efficiency, innovative and robust power packaging with high quality,” said Axel Hahn, Senior Vice President and General Manager Automotive LV MOSFETs of Infineon. “We are providing our customers a diverse product portfolio and are addressing all their requirements to drive the development of modern automotive applications.”

Significant performance increases in all accessible voltage classes are made possible by the new OptiMOS 7 technology, which combines inventive packaging with 300 mm thin-wafer technology.

Consequently, the parts are now offered in a range of tough automotive power packages, such as sTOLL (7×8), mTOLG (8×8), Dual SSO8 (5×6), and Single SSO8 (5×6). With the lowest on-state resistance in the market (1.3 m? max in a single SSO8 (5×6) 80V package, for example), the family provides the highest power density and energy efficiency in the smallest form factor.

In addition, the devices have high avalanche current capacity, enhanced resilience in the Safe Operating Area (SOA), and decreased switching losses. They so make it possible to create a very effective system for use in automobile applications in the future.

Availability

The OptiMOS 7 products are now available in the following different robust automotive power packages in 40 V, 80 V and 100 V: Dual SSO8 (5×6), Single SSO8 (5×6), mTOLG (8×8), and sTOLL (7×8). Further information is available at www.infineon.com/OptiMOS7.
