The new MOTIX TLE9189 gate driver IC from Infineon Technologies is being introduced for use in safety-critical 12 V brushless DC (BLDC) motor applications. Infineon is addressing the increasing need for motor control ICs needed for by-wire solutions with this new three-phase gate driver IC.Infineon MOTIX TLE9189 Three-Phase Gate Driver IC For BLDC The Volt Post

In accordance with ISO 26262 (ASIL D) and AEC Q100 Grade 0, the driver IC is qualified. Because of this, the gadget is especially well-suited for steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems, which will eventually do away with traditional mechanical connections.

There will be two distinct packages for the MOTIX TLE9189 gate driver IC: the VQFN-48 (7 x 7 mm²) and the TQFP-48 (9 x 9 mm²). Customers can now choose the package that best suits their application needs thanks to this.

The device is designed for 12 V automobile battery systems and has a supply voltage range of 4.2 V to 36 V. It has a traditional motor control architecture with integrated current sense amplifiers for precise current sensing and PWM input.

The three-phase gate driver IC TLE9189 provides extremely high gate sequencing flexibility and granularity in comparison to comparable devices. Furthermore, the device, the inverter, the microcontroller, and the MCU interfaces are all monitored through the integration of many diagnostic and monitoring features.

With extensive support materials, Infineon helps its clients throughout the design-in phase. A variety of technical documents, such as application notes, are among them. A complicated device driver, setup tools, and simulation models are available upon request.
