The new automotive-qualified fingerprint sensor integrated circuits (ICs) CYFP10020A00 and CYFP10020S00 are introduced by Infineon Technologies. The devices meet the AEC-Q100 standards for the automotive sector and are designed to connect to Infineon’s TRAVEO T2G microcontroller family.
Strong fingerprint identification and authentication features are provided by the sensors. This makes them perfect for applications involving identity and verification outside of the automobile industry, as well as for in-vehicle personalization and payment authentication, such as charging, parking, or other services.
To offer the greatest fingerprint recognition and authentication solution available, Infineon has teamed up with Precise Biometrics for Biomatch algorithm software.

The operating temperature range of the CYFP10020A00 and CYFP10020S00 sensors is -40 to +85 °C and -40 to +105 °C, respectively. The ridge and valley patterns of a user’s fingerprint can be precisely captured by both sensors thanks to their precise capacitive circuitry. Finger touch-down and lift-off events are detected by the sensors.
The sensor can optionally follow the user’s finger movements and function as a tiny touchpad for menu selection and scrolling.
It is possible to optimize the devices for various bezel and coating kinds. Customers can alter the module’s overall appearance and feel to best suit their design objectives thanks to this flexibility. The sensors offer power supply options ranging from 1.8 to 5.5 V and have an 8 by 8 mm sensing area on an 8.9 x 9.3 mm BGA device. An on-chip AES hardware block encrypts the fingerprint data, which is then sent to the host-MCU (such as the TRAVEO T2G microcontroller) over an SPI interface.
