Building on its support for audio, radar, and other time-series data, Infineon Technologies is now offering support for computer vision in DEEPCRAFT Studio. The platform will enable the development of low-power, low-memory Edge AI models for vision with this support.
Smart home appliances can monitor objects, people, or pets; factories can use this to implement real-time visual inspection of parts, for example, or shut down machinery in the presence of a human; the Edge AI use cases that vision unlocks are almost endless.
This is a game-changer for machine learning developers across a wide range of applications and use cases.
Infineon is going to demonstrate this capability in a computer vision demo at Embedded World 2025 in Nuremberg this March. The demonstration showcases cutting-edge object identification driven by Ultralytics YOLO models, which allow developers to use DEEPCRAFT Studio to train unique computer vision solutions.
Using Ultralytics YOLO models in DEEPCRAFT Studio speeds up and improves the efficiency of AI deployment by drastically cutting training time while preserving excellent accuracy.
Iterating on models throughout the development cycle is made possible by these DEEPCRAFT Studio enhancements as well as the platform’s distinctive graph-based user experience interface. Before deploying their model onto hardware, developers can test it in real-time using their own computer and camera to ensure it functions as expected. This expedites development because the model can be improved prior to deployment.
Leadership Comments
“These updates to DEEPCRAFT Studio optimize each step in AI model development for vision-based use cases, starting with data collection and preprocessing and all the way through model deployment,” says Alexander Samuelsson, Product Manager DEEPCRAFT Studio. “This means we are offering developers truly end-to-end support for vision. With this support paired with Infineon’s PSOC™ Edge high performance machine learning MCUs, Infineon’s customers are well-equipped to add top-of-the-line Edge AI features to their products.”
Availability
A new version of DEEPCRAFT Studio with support for vision will be released in April. The platform updates automatically when you restart it, so developers can download Studio here to make sure they have the earliest access to the new version when it is released.
A vision-based demonstration of DEEPCRAFT Studio will be debuted at Embedded World.
