Combining these hybrid capabilities onto one platform, such as HPE GreenLake, is essential as businesses deal with increasingly complex and heterogeneous IT estates.

With its multi-vendor, multicloud application provisioning, orchestration, and automation features, FinOps capabilities for cloud cost optimization, and other features, Morpheus will improve HPE GreenLake.

Morpheus is a good addition to HPE’s 2023 acquisition of OpsRamp, a pioneer in IT operations management. With these features, HPE will be firmly established as the first provider of a whole portfolio of enterprise-grade services and capabilities throughout the hybrid cloud stack2, making HPE GreenLake the go-to hybrid cloud location for businesses going forward.

“With the acquisition of Morpheus Data, we will take the next major leap to make HPE GreenLake cloud the de facto platform for innovating across hybrid IT,” said Fidelma Russo, executive vice president and general manager, hybrid cloud and CTO at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

With its robust FinOps capabilities, HPE GreenLake will also assist businesses in optimizing their spending across cloud environments. HPE will leverage the acquired company’s FinOps capabilities to integrate its multi-cloud, multi-vendor IT data with its own to help clients better understand their cloud spending, set usage limits, and optimize workloads to reduce expenses.

“This acquisition is the result of a long-term relationship between HPE and Morpheus Data that has already proven successful with customers. Together we will be able to help more customers transform their multicloud, multi-vendor IT estates to thrive and innovate in this increasingly complex and fragmented IT landscape,” said Brian Wheeler, co-founder and CEO, Morpheus Data.

HPE Portfolio Integration and Availability

Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is anticipated to close early in the fourth quarter of the HPE 2024 fiscal year. The technology from Morpheus Data will remain available as independent software and be integrated with HPE’s private cloud portfolio and GreenLake cloud. HPE will continue to support its current clients and alliances.
