Honeywell organized its premier event, “LeadHERS in Tech,” which brought together more than 200 dynamic women professionals from the technology sector. Inspiring a future where women drive innovation, this historic event gathered together innovators, thought leaders, and changemakers to showcase the power of women-led technological innovations.
The all-day event promoted industry-wide conversations on shattering boundaries, giving women the chance to not only take part but also lead the charge in bringing about the changes that will shape technology’s future.
In his keynote speech, Anant Maheshwari, President & CEO of Global Regions at Honeywell, underlined the value of a variety of perspectives in influencing technology’s direction.
He emphasized that in addition to making significant contributions to recent developments, women in technology are also playing a key role in advancing the inventions that will shape the coming period.
In his demand for increased female leadership empowerment, Anant Maheshwari highlighted the significance that programs like ‘LeadHERS in Tech’ play in giving women a voice in determining the direction of technology.
A fireside talk with Niranjan Kalyandurg, president of Honeywell Technology Solutions, and Ashish Modi, president of Honeywell India, was part of the event.
They brought attention to the value of sponsorship in furthering women’s careers as well as the role that male allyship plays in creating an inclusive workplace.
In their closing remarks, the leaders urged women to be fearless, outspoken, and actively involved in influencing the direction of technology. They also discussed gender prejudices and the necessity of training to reduce unconscious blind spots.
The “InnovateHER contest,” which showcased tech-driven solutions from women teams to address real-world concerns, was also held during the event. The competition illustrated the importance of women in influencing the direction of technology and the strength of different viewpoints in problem-solving.
Highlight of the day was a high-profile panel discussion titled “Breaking Barriers in Tech: Stories of Resilience and Innovation,” featuring industry leaders including:
- Latha Chemrakalam, Vice President at Continental; Sidharth Balachandran, Head of the AirBus Innovation Centre; Ashwini Siddhi, AI Head at GoDaddy; and Sumedha Limaye, VP of Engineering at Quest Global.
- The discussion highlighted how women are challenging the status quo in tech and reshaping the tech landscape with bold, forward-thinking approaches.
- Inspirational talks were delivered by Vandana Suri, founder of TAXSHE, India’s women-only taxi service, and Nisha Millet, former Olympic swimmer, who shared their journeys of perseverance and success.
In addition, attendees attended specialized masterclasses and toured the Honeywell Experience Center, where they learned about the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives as well as its advancements in automation, energy transition, and aviation.
