China has been aggressively supporting technologies that combine many energy sources and storage options in recent years in an effort to increase energy efficiency and reach carbon neutrality. The China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou will host the 22nd edition of Guangzhou Electrical construction Technology (GEBT) from June 9–12, 2025, with the goal of promoting low-carbon and green developments in intelligent construction. The event, which is being hosted in conjunction with the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE), will feature products and technology pertaining to smart lighting, smart power distribution, home automation, smart hotel systems, and low-carbon intelligent buildings.
The Chinese government released a number of opinions in the middle of 2024 to promote the use of intelligent technology to propel the low-carbon and green transformation of different industries.
This includes encouraging sustainable lifestyles, creating low-energy structures, and developing innovative power supply technologies. With the goal of establishing a healthy living environment, the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission, in collaboration with other departments, released a guideline to encourage the broad use of green building technology in the construction and clean energy facility sectors.
Ms Lucia Wong, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “The rapid advancement in the applications 5G communications, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the metaverse are driving innovation across the industry. As a leading communication platform for the industry, GEBT will highlight new opportunities in low- carbon intelligent building and smart power distribution to facilitate the smart industry ecosystem. The 2025 edition will feature dedicated zones to showcase cutting-edge energy-saving and low-carbon building technologies to explore a more sustainable future.”
New exhibition zones highlight new energy innovations
GEBT, a leading industry platform for cross-sector collaboration, takes use of long-term growth prospects in low-carbon transformation and intelligent building, encouraging green innovation to improve building solutions’ sustainability and efficiency. New themed exhibition zones with cutting-edge intelligent low-carbon building technology will be highlighted during this year’s event.
Exhibitors will display hybrid power supplies, integrated power generation, grids, demand, and storage on active distribution systems, as well as renewable energy supply and distribution systems, in the “Smart Power Distribution” zone. Furthermore, the “Generic Cabling” area will concentrate on the use of generic cabling in IoT, home automation, and intelligent building technologies.
Power quality systems, innovative energy and energy storage technologies, and building equipment monitoring and energy-saving systems and products will all be on display in the “Building Control and Energy Management” zone. The “Intelligent Building Supply Chain Consulting” area will also be introduced at this year’s show to help industry professionals exchange knowledge effectively.
In the meanwhile, GEBT and Qianjia Smartech will work together to invite experts and professionals in the field to hold a number of interesting forums. These talks will cover subjects such home automation, smart commercial spaces, new dual-carbon solutions, and the use of AI in intelligent buildings. Among the featured events are:
The China (Guangzhou) Integrators’ Conference 2025
In order to discuss how intelligent system integration can improve the industry by lowering costs and increasing efficiency, this conference will bring together representatives from a variety of industries, including integrators, government procurement officials, project managers, architects, low-voltage contractors, operators, and designers.
Low-Carbon Intelligent Building Summit 2025
The main focus of this event will be how intelligent building technologies and low-carbon trends may be combined. “Applications of AI in Intelligent Building and Energy-saving Strategies,” “AI-driven System for Energy-saving and Carbon Reduction,” “Innovative Integration Reshaping a New Era of Intelligent Building Automation,” and “New Direction, New Driver, and New Initiative for Advanced Development in the Intelligent Building Industry” are some of the topics that will be covered.
Emerging Trends & Highlights in Intelligent Building 2025
This event, which has as its theme “New Product, New Technology, and New Solution,” will offer ideas on how to improve quality of life and intelligent design standards while empowering users through technology and innovation-driven development. Leading companies in the low-carbon intelligent building sector will also offer case studies of diverse technology applications and introduce their newest technologies at the forum.
The fair will also hold the “AI+ Low-Carbon Intelligent Building Summit,” which will cover “AI+” business strategies to assist the intelligent and green technology revolution, in addition to the activities mentioned above. By providing exhibitors with a professional business platform to display their state-of-the-art inventions and service capabilities and supporting the new model for industry transformation, GEBT will continue to foster cross-sector cooperation in 2025.
Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology are part of Messe Frankfurt’s Light + Building Technology fairs headed by the biennial Light + Building event. The next edition will be held from 8 – 13 March 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Messe Frankfurt organises several trade fairs for the light and building technology sectors in Asia, including Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology, Shanghai Smart Home Technology and Parking China. The company’s lighting and building technology trade fairs also cover the markets in Argentina, India, Türkiye, the UAE and the USA.
