At Sai Dham, Faridabad, the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and ABB India have opened a cutting-edge smart facility for electrician training. Dr. Motilal Gupta, the founder and president of Sai Dham, was the program’s chief visitor and other delegates included Sanjay Joon, the commissioner of the Faridabad division, Dr. Sunil Gulati, the chief information officer of the Haryana government, Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, the CEO of ESSCI, Mr. Sujeet Gosain, the HR head of ABB, and Major Dhiraj Yadav, the administrative officer of ABB.
An important milestone has been reached in the continuous efforts to close the skills gap in India’s electronics industry with the inauguration. The center’s mission is to give young people access to state-of-the-art training so they can succeed in the cutthroat job market of today.
The project supports the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which focuses on improving vocational training to produce a workforce with the necessary skills to meet business demands, affirmed its official release.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO of ESSCI, and Sujit Gusain, HR Head of ABB India, was one of the event’s major highlights. Through this agreement, a comprehensive program aiming at training and job prospects for young electricians will be delivered.
The smart center’s training program will use an end-to-end management solution, which starts with the appropriate candidates being screened and chosen. These people will go through a rigorous training program that lasts more than 540 hours and takes place over the course of about 90 days.
The goal of this demanding curriculum is to guarantee that trainees gain real-world experience that satisfies industry standards. After the program is over, ESSCI will collaborate closely with business partners to help with job placements, making sure the trainees can easily move into the workforce.
Dr Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, ESSCI, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This partnership with ABB India represents a significant milestone in our mission to empower the youth with the skills needed to succeed in today’s job market. By focusing on both upskilling current workers and training new entrants, we are creating a sustainable pipeline of talent ready to meet the evolving demands of the electronics industry.”
