Students at VNIT Nagpur will have several tools and chances to investigate geospatial technology and its applications as part of the MMGEIS Program.
The Center for Knowledge Sovereignty (CKS) and Esri India came up with the Master Mentors Geo-enabling Indian Scholars (MMGEIS) initiative, which was introduced in December 2023. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur joined this special effort on May 9.
VNIT organized a number of events under the auspices of the MMGEIS Program with the goal of promoting communication and cooperation in the field of geographic information technology.
Academic leaders, business executives, representatives from prestigious universities, and students came together for a variety of events aimed at exchanging information about geospatial technology, its relevance in the modern world, and its applications.
Participating in the events were more than 250 students from VNIT and other schools in Nagpur, who had the chance to speak with Shri AS Kiran Kumar, the Chair of the MMGEIS Board and a former chairman of ISRO. An insightful speech about the relevance of geospatial technology in the modern day was given by Shri AS Kiran Kumar.
Students at VNIT Nagpur will have several tools and chances to investigate geospatial technology and its applications as part of the MMGEIS Program. Students will learn useful skills and insights from professionals in the industry that they may use in a variety of professions, such as environmental management and urban planning.

The MMGEIS program will soon be implemented in a number of schools and educational institutions with the goal of engaging up to 5,000 000 children over the course of the next five years. It seeks to support a robust intellectual property system so that India may file more patents as it moves toward being a major center for geospatial innovation worldwide.
