Automating Generation of Schematics with Eplan’s eBuild 2025

Schematic generation that is automated produces better outcomes more quickly and with fewer errors. For this procedure, the solutions supplier Eplan has created a range of technical approaches.

Holger Jansen ““The new context-sensitive Inline app assistance technology gets users faster results,” says Eplan’s Business Owner Functional Design Holger Jansen.

Among these is the cloud-based program eBuild, which enables users to create projects with only a single mouse click. The recently released Version 2025 offers notable improvements in terms of usability, functionality, and schematic configuration and generation of Schematics.

Schematic generation by itself is not a new concept. The technique by which this is accomplished is becoming more and more inventive, but one thing is certain: the cloud is now essential to this endeavor. With its full integration into the Eplan Cloud, Eplan’s eBuild software now delivers maximum simplicity and even greater convenience of use.

The new Version 2025, which is available now, impresses with numerous improvements for the more efficient use of macro technology in engineering. “We have developed a solution that is easy to use, but at the same time is very innovative in terms of its functionality,” says Eplan’s Business Owner Functional Design Holger Jansen.

Operation in the cloud – even easier and now context sensitive

The user interface has been optimised so that users simply have a better overview of the project even more quickly. For instance, the new Navigator bar means that users can keep an eye on the eBuild configuration and generation process at all times. And that is not all on the technology side of things.

“The new context-sensitive Inline app assistance technology gets users faster results,” Jansen says. “This new help functionality, which is directly embedded inline into eBuild, makes it even easier to use.”

How it works

The process is pretty easy. Simply logging into the Eplan Cloud allows users to view their company organization’s projects on the cloud, including their own. Installing any software is not required for this.

The necessary macro libraries can be chosen in Project Builder, a feature of Eplan eBuild, after which the project can be configured and/or generated. In this regard, the new Navigator helps users by simplifying the choosing process.

Following policies and standards also guarantees end-to-end data consistency on the system side, from product architecture to the actual project realization.

Configuration in the cloud means easier and faster results

Without knowing any higher programming languages, a set of rules and configurable interfaces can be easily and quickly constructed; knowledge of Eplan macro technology is sufficient in this case. Then, a series of rules is added to these Eplan macros in eBuild.

Next, users enter the specifications for a machine or plant system that their clients need using this configuration approach. The capability to setup eBuild 2025 from a web browser on Windows, Android, or iOS is a new feature.Eplan eBuild 2025 Schematic configuration and Generation 1

Therefore, there are no longer any barriers to using eBuild on mobile devices as an engineering configurator.

Generation in the cloud means even more collaboration

In eBuild 2025, producing projects is entirely cloud-based, eliminating the need for a local Eplan software installation in addition to configuration. Schematics can be created immediately in the cloud using an eManage-provided Eplan Project.

Projects and documentation may be seen on any device, including tablets, smartphones, and browsers, using eView, the company’s in-house cloud viewer. It is compatible with both iOS and Android environments.

You can review the plans here and use the redlining and greenlining features in the viewer to feed changes back into the project.

In conclusion

Schematics can now be developed via an internet browser using Eplan eBuild in the cloud. The benefits are obvious: schematics may be produced not only during the construction design phase but also, far earlier in the tendering process or during the preplanning project phase, by simply clicking on them.
