Renesas Electronics Corporation unveiled expanded functionality and new features for its cloud-based embedded system design platform, Quick Connect Studio.
By using Quick Connect Studio, customers may expedite product development and validate prototypes more quickly by graphically co-optimizing hardware and software.
With this new embedded system design platform, Quick Connect Studio engineers can create solutions by visually dragging and dropping device and design blocks on the Cloud.
The new embedded system design platform enables users to automatically construct, compile, and build the underlying software after placing each block.
It is said to be a significant move in the direction of the no-code development paradigm said Renesas official release.
As a result, creating production-level software is as simple as assembling building blocks. With this embedded system design platform, Quick Connect Studio very little initial knowledge or money is required.
Fast compilation is made possible by the cloud’s computing capacity, and the user-friendly GUI lowers the learning curve.
System software that can be repeatedly tested on the hardware is automatically generated by Quick Connect Studio.
Quick Connect Studio Gets Further Expansion
Renesas is continuing to expand this embedded system design platform with a broad portfolio of growing number of devices from Renesas and partners that users can use to build their prototype systems.
Quick Connect Studio now offers support for all the Renesas RA MCU boards, as well as multiple Renesas wireless modules and sensors.
Additionally, devices from partners such as ams OSRAM, TDK, and Arducam have been added to further broaden the range of supported applications and designs.
Quick Connect Studio, the embedded system design platform can now help users build over 350 systems using Renesas MCU and breakout boards.
Renesas is working with more suppliers and partners to automate the addition of their complementary devices, thus providing customers a broad portfolio of supported devices to build their system designs.
Benefits for The New Embedded System Design Platform Users
For users of Quick Connect Studio, Renesas is now offering real-time code editing and remote debugging. The browser application allows for real-time customization of the automatically generated code.
The code can be dynamically tested on target hardware using remote board farms to ensure functionality before purchasing or constructing the actual board and assembling the testing apparatus.
This capacity in the embedded system design platform allows for simultaneous work on the hardware and software aspects of system design, which significantly accelerates the process of developing proof of ideas and prototyping system solutions.
Renesas with embedded system design platform now able to provide multi-region secure infrastructure installations globally for consistent user experience, quick response times, and decreased latency. As a result, the platform can support several concurrent users and scale automatically to any location at any time.
Renesas’ Quick Connect Studio is a part of Renesas Quick Connect
Renesas’ Quick Connect Studio is a part of Renesas Quick Connect, a platform of standardized hardware featuring industry-established interfaces such as PMOD™, Arduino, and MIKROE. With standard connectors, engineers can mix and match MCUs, MPUs, sensors, and connectivity boards seamlessly. In the future, users will be able to extend and expand beyond Renesas to different partners such as major cloud providers, service integrators, and leaders in the open-source community.
Key Comments
“Quick Connect Studio is a transformational offering for the industry,” said DK Singh, Vice President, Digitalization for Renesas. “For the first time, engineers can now pursue hardware and software development simultaneously. Our aim is to remove all the preparatory work from the system development process. This is a radical shift, enabling designers to focus their resources and energy on their core innovation build software immediately with the ability to quickly reconfigure and test product ideas.”
“Renesas is empowering customers to accelerate their proof of concepts and production processes through Quick Connect Studio,” said Sahil Choudhary, Director of Marketing at TDK. “Once integrated into this platform, customers can seamlessly incorporate our MEMS 6-axis motion sensor with any Renesas RA MCU, generating production-ready code within minutes, without delving into intricate technical details.”
Availability
Quick Connect Studio is available today and supported by various Quick Connect IoT development boards spanning MCUs, Connectivity, and Sensors. More development kits, PMODs and peripheral boards will be added continuously to the platform at www.renesas.com/qcstudio.
