The “Eye on Intelligence” design competition has been introduced by element14 and AMD. With the help of a development kit based on the AMD Zynq-7000 SoC devices, participants in this cutting-edge competition are invited to design and build an embedded vision project.

The 15 selected challengers will have until 25 October to complete their projects and blog entries. Winners will be announced in October 2024.
Embedded vision is being included into more and more projects, which has a big influence on product development, technological innovation, and skill sets.
The best hardware for developing embedded visual intelligence systems is AMD FPGAs and adaptable SoCs. The competition provides a great chance for developers to use the AMD Zynq-7000 SoC-based development kit to improve their embedded vision abilities.
A Digilent Arty Z7 (P/N 410-346-20) development platform based on the AMD Zynq-7000TM SoC will be given away free of charge to 15 official applicants. Participants must ensure that the kit is utilized in the end project and blog about their design process and embedded vision project results in order to be eligible for awards.
The competition promotes inventive uses of AMD’s adaptive SoC technology as well as imaginative use of the FPGA components. Facial recognition signage, an ANPR registration plate monitoring system, object classification, and an object sorting system are a few examples of the competition’s challenges.

Grand Prize Package of “Eye on Intelligence” design competition
A Multicomp Pro MP720025 Digital Oscilloscope and a Multicomp Pro MP710082 Bench Power Supply, valued at around $900 together, are included in the grand prize package. A Multicomp Pro MP720857 Handheld Oscilloscope and a Tenma 72-2660 Handheld DC Power Supply, valued at around $380, make up the runner-up prize. A Multicomp Pro MP781004 Handheld Digital Multimeter is the final prize.
