With the appointment of Dr. Roger Baumann (58) as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) is embarking on a new era of leadership. The CEO of R&M since 2012, Michel Riva, has made the decision to reduce his professional activity and concentrate on advisory board and consulting assignments. On June 23, 2025, the handover occurred after a brief period of transition.
In the manufacturing sector, Dr. Roger Baumann has decades of experience in technology, sales, and international management. He started his career with Siemens AG in 1998, serving as the Managing Director of the market organization in Taiwan and Head of Global Business Segments, among other positions.
Roger Baumann has served as the CEO and Managing Director of three medium-sized, internationally operating technology companies since 2009.
Most recently, he guided Büchi Labortechnik AG in Flawil to notable global success by strategically placing the company as a pioneer in innovation. He finished his doctorate in microtechnology at EPFL Lausanne after studying electrical engineering at ETH Zurich.
Additionally, he finished the University of St. Gallen’s Board Program and Executive MBA program.
