DigiKey has announced that it is sponsoring the Formula Bharat student engineering competition for the third year in a row. The competition is supported by the Platinum level sponsorship, which empowers student teams access to advanced technologies and global engineering tools.
DigiKey announces its Platinum-level sponsorship of Formula Bharat, taking place Jan. 21-26, 2026, in Coimbatore, India.
Students from colleges and universities across the nation compete with life-size Formula-style racing vehicles in Formula Bharat, an engineering design competition that will take place at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, India, from January 21–26, 2026.
As part of the competition, students design their vehicles, determine their cost and marketability, and guarantee dynamic performance. Every year, 11 countries host the global student Formula series, which is replicated in this series.
On January 24 and 25, DigiKey representatives will be there to engage with participants and share information about the company’s online tools and resources available to Indian makers and students. This expands on the competition’s emphasis on experiential learning, which encourages them to design, test, and iterate high-performance vehicles under real-world technical constraints.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a best-idea submission contest hosted at the DigiKey booth. Prizes include STMicroelectronics STM32 development tools.
