In the fourth season of the Factory Tomorrow video series, viewers learn how innovations from titans of the industry like Siemens and Banner Engineering are boosting productivity, offering useful insights into day-to-day operations, and shaping the course of global manufacturing in the future.

“Manufacturing the Digital Thread,” the first of three videos in the series, investigates how innovators like Siemens are facilitating digital transformations in the manufacturing industry.

Digital representations of complex manufacturing systems are produced through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. The video also demonstrates how data analysis, predictive maintenance, and real-time simulation are building the factories of the future.

The first of three videos in the series, “Manufacturing the Digital Thread,” explores how innovators like Siemens are enabling digital transformations in the manufacturing world.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are used to create digital representations of complex manufacturing systems. The video also highlights how real-time simulation, data analysis and predictive maintenance are creating the factories of tomorrow.

In the second video, “Breaking Through with Industrial IoT,” illustrates how plug-and-play solutions for machine safety, wireless connectivity, and sensing are being spearheaded by Banner Engineering. With an emphasis on machine-to-machine communication, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enables more efficient automation, extended asset lifetime, and user-friendliness.

In the third and last video of the Factory Tomorrow video series, “The Future of the Factory Floor,” DigiKey, Siemens, and Banner Engineering discuss how they plan to use technology advancements to bridge gaps in the manufacturing floor. The next phase of intelligent manufacturing will be shaped by AI, real-time data and better human-computer interaction.
