New Open Source TrustCore SDK for Developers by DigiCert

DigiCert said that their TrustCore SDK, a production-tested cryptographic library for embedded and Internet of Things devices, is now available as an open-source project. The TrustCore SDK, which is now accessible on GitHub under the AGPL v3 license, provides developers with the means to incorporate security into their products from the outset by allowing them to fully transparently assess, integrate, and modify trusted cryptographic capabilities.

DigiCert is assisting businesses in developing quantum-resilient solutions that scale safely for production deployments by providing both an open-source option and a commercially supported path.

TrustCore SDK offers support for TLS 1.3, MQTT, SCEP, EST, and post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, and stands apart from other open-source crypto libraries by offering:

  • A 15+ year production track record across high-assurance industries
  • FIPS-compliant configurations for rigorous security use cases
  • Direct integration with DigiCert Device Trust Manager, enabling certificate lifecycle automation
  • Modular availability, starting with the NanoSSH module on GitHub, with more components releasing over the coming months

The release responds to the increasing demand for high-assurance, verifiable encryption as emerging risks affect connected and embedded devices.

In addition to being sluggish to adjust to changing standards like post-quantum preparedness, traditional cryptography libraries are frequently opaque and challenging to test.

This is changed by the TrustCore SDK, which gives developers access to open, production-tested cryptography, facilitating more transparency, quicker innovation, and community-driven integration of new standards like TLS 1.3 and PQC algorithms.
