According to Prashanth Doreswamy, President and CEO, Continental India, “At Continental, we have an unwavering commitment to create an environment that fosters learning, collaboration and innovation. Innovation is key in an industry like automotive where technology transformations are disrupting the status quo.”
Ajay Kumar, Head of HR, Continental India, said, “It is an honour to be among LinkedIn’s top 25 companies in India. This clearly underscores the progress we have made in enhancing our employee experience. This recognition also reaffirms our commitment to attract and retain the most talented people. We believe that this certification further confirms our employee feedback, as reflected through a high engagement ratio, high retention standards, healthy internal job movements, leadership commitment, and a good offer-to-join ratio. We will continue to institutionalize best people practices that will retain our position as an employer of choice, where people love to work.”
Learning & Upskilling are key in a transforming industry
The automobile sector is undergoing transition due to technological advancements and shifts in customer preferences. The way businesses adapt to these changes will determine their level of success.
One of the first automakers to establish an internal university, the Software and Systems Academy, was Continental, affirm its official release.
Upskill Initiatives
This allowed Continental to retrain and upskill its employees in the newest trends and technology. With its main office in Bangalore, this school serves as the go-to resource for all technology-related training requirements for the Continental Automotive Group’s worldwide software engineering community.
In order to meet the demands of software skill development, including more recent developments like AI, ML, and cybersecurity for Software Defined Vehicles, the academy creates learning solutions in a variety of forms, including e-learning, classroom learning, microlearning, gamified learning, etc.
We-Lead is a distinctive learning intervention offered by Continental that concentrates on promoting and expediting the career progression of women occupying leadership positions within the company. This hallmark curriculum is a six-month tailored course delivered through blended learning, which includes webinars, seminars, assessments, coaching, and hands-on learning.
We-Lead’s unique selling point is its “live business case study segment,” which gives participants the chance to address real-world business problems. By the end of the segment, participants are required to offer workable go-to-market solutions for the particular problems they have identified.
Working closely with leadership and SMEs from India and other areas is required for this. This program, which began in 2019, is highly sought after in Continental India. Approximately 50% of program alumni are now mentoring aspiring professionals, and 38% of program graduates have advanced to higher professional grades.
Kumar further added, “According to us, talent management is the single most important defining factor of an organization’s success. It is about building a strong foundation on which people can grow and thrive”.
Continental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods. Founded in 1871, the technology company offers safe, efficient, intelligent and affordable solutions for vehicles, machines, traffic and transportation.
