The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) is organizing a significant three-day international event called “BSIA Roadshow 2025” in Penang, Malaysia, from November 11 to 13, 2025.

This event aims to introduce Bangladesh as an emerging hub in the global semiconductor ecosystem, showcasing its growing capabilities in chip design, innovation, and talent.
With Malaysia recognized as one of Asia’s most advanced centers for semiconductor packaging and testing, the roadshow is strategically positioned to foster collaboration between Bangladesh’s design strengths and Malaysia’s manufacturing expertise.
The roadshow follows the success of Bangladesh’s National Semiconductor Symposium earlier in 2025 and marks the beginning of a series of global engagements intended to strengthen Bangladesh’s international presence in the semiconductor field.
During the event, leading Bangladeshi semiconductor companies specializing in areas such as analog, RF, photonics design, AI-driven design automation, semiconductor testing, and power devices will participate, demonstrating the depth of innovation within Bangladesh’s semiconductor sector.
Prominent officials, including the Deputy Chief Minister of Penang and Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, will attend, alongside representatives from Malaysian governmental agencies and major industry players.
The event aims to establish business-to-business and government partnerships, encourage joint semiconductor design and packaging projects, and foster collaborations around training and intellectual property sharing.
Malaysia faces a growing demand for skilled semiconductor professionals, anticipating a shortage of 60,000 skilled workers by 2030. Bangladesh seeks to bridge this gap by contributing its cost-effective design talent, which has the potential to complement Malaysia’s established manufacturing and testing capabilities.
The strengthening of ties through memoranda of understanding signed between key institutions in both countries focuses on technology transfer, talent development, and research collaboration, supporting Bangladesh’s ambition to become a competitive player in the semiconductor industry while aiding Malaysia in expanding its electronics and semiconductor footprint globally.
This collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to the economic growth of both countries, with Bangladesh aspiring to build a robust high-tech export economy akin to its success in other sectors.
The strategic partnership is also aligned with Malaysia’s national agenda to enhance its role as a regional technology leader and to provide Malaysian companies opportunities for investment abroad.
Together, these efforts symbolize a new phase in regional cooperation, highlighting the
potential for Bangladesh to emerge as a trusted innovation partner in the global semiconductor value chain while supporting Malaysia’s industry growth and talent needs.
